Apex Magazine’s readers have voted “A Splash of Color” as “Apex story of the year.”

Thank you Apex readers! And special thanks to Jason Sizemore, who purchased the story.

My previously published zombie story, “The Basement” will reanimate in Best New Zombie Stories, Vol 3, somewhere down the line. Stay tuned. Keep your basement well-stocked.

Phases of Alkahest” has been selected as the second place winner in a competition run by the kick-ass zine, Brain Harvest, as judged by the multi-talented writer and editor, Jeff VanderMeer.

This Dog’s Life” appears in Brain Harvest.

Outshine has purchased one of my twitter fictions.

Apex Books has announced Descended from Darkness, a forthcoming anthology, which includes my short story, “A Splash of Color.”

Northern Haunts, an original anthology featuring “100 tales of ghosts, creatures, mad men, and other horrifying mysteries” is now available. It includes my flash fic, “Snip and Rip.” All proceeds from the anthology go to the American Cancer Society.

The Fix reviewed my short story, A Splash of Color, and had this to say, “Told in first person by a nameless narrator, this taut, science fiction thriller keeps the reader guessing with intriguing, creepy characters, tense interactions, and believably cool technology. “A Splash of Color” is a fun read.”

Thaumatrope has purchased several of my Twitter (micro) stories. Scheduled to appear throughout 2009.

My short story, A Splash of Color, is now available for free at Apex Online.

Bits of the Dead, an anthology of zombie flash fiction is available in bookstores. It features the flashfic, The Basement.

“I’d put ‘Bits of the Dead’ right up there with the likes of Skipp and Spector’s ‘Book of the Dead’ or David J Schow’s ‘Zombie Jam’ – each eerie tale featuring it’s own new take on the dead. If you’re a fan of zombies and zombie fiction…load your gun, stock your basement and make a run to grab this book!”
